“It can no longer be denied that Israel is a rogue state,” wrote Ottawa journalist Jane Touzel on May 30, 2026 in an open letter to Prime Minister Mark Carney and Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand calling on Canada to act. “Taking on Israel begins with joining like-minded countries in vocal and unequivocal condemnation of Israeli behaviour, not just each egregious incident as it occurs, but in its historical entirety. This must happen on a global stage in order to have impact.
