Peace Train Canada is a civil society organization working “to inspire our country to recommit to the ways of diplomacy and non-violent conflict resolution for enduring security and well-being at home and abroad.” The organization is urging the Government of Canada “to establish and fund a Centre of Excellence for Peace and Justice focused on research, education, and training in conflict resolution, diplomacy, and peace operations for Canadian civilians, police, military personnel, and the international community.” Peace Train Canada will host a series of events in Ottawa in late October 2026, including, on October 29, a peace education workshop and, on October 30, an expert panel on “Canada’s Military Spending Spree: The Real Cost to Canadians.” On October 31, Peace Train Canada will organize a peace rally on Parliament Hill.
