One of the things that makes our Annual Policy Conference so wonderful is the way in which we are able to bring together seasoned policy professionals, civil society, and engaged youth. We do this through our Student Rapporteur program, which selects some of the area’s best who are studying International Relations at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa.

We recognize that the “times they are a-changin;” and that the old way of doing things doesn’t always work anymore. Youth perspectives and approaches invigorate our discussions while building on the knowledge and experience of others who came before.
Student rapporteurs are active participatants in the conference; they pose quuestions, engage in dialog with other guests, provide us with their take-aways from our sessions, and write reports that are shared with our Chief Rapporteur. The Chief Rapporteur takes in these reports, in addition to our own reflections, and helps us craft our recommendations for Canadian Foreign Policy.
