The Group of 78 is pleased to share with you this webinar Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels: The Ambition of the Santa Marta Conference which took place on Wednesday, March 11 at 12 noon ET. Our speakers were H.E. Carlos Morales (Ambassador of Colombia to Canada), H.E. Margriet Vonno (Ambasador of The Netherlands to Canada), as well as policy experts Laura Julianna and Bastiaan Hassing and Vice Chair of the Group of 78, Susan Tanner. Group of 78 Chair Ted Jackson moderated the discussion.
The discussion centred on the upcoming Santa Marta Conference which is “the first implementation-focused conference, intended to support practical action by those already prepared to move forward. It does not seek to deliver a negotiated outcome, but rather to generate shared understanding and actionable guidance that can help accelerate a just, orderly, and equitable transition away from fossil fuels.”
